Volvo
Volvo has embraced the world’s fast-charging race to electric vehicle domination. Volvo has made it known they’ll go all-electric by 2030.
And as bold as that would’ve sounded a few years ago, Volvo is by no means alone in the march towards electricity.
Mini (BMW)
Mini’s parent brand, BMW, is no stranger to the world of EVs. So it comes as no surprise that Mini is looking to launch their final combustion vehicle in 2025.
Fun fact: BMW made its first electric car way back in 1972. It was never fit for mass production for a host of reasons. For one, the batteries were only capable of powering it for a max of 37 miles. Sounds like no mass production was the right call—besides, who could afford 37 miles of extension cords?
Cadillac
GM has announced that in 2023, Cadillac’s first EV—the Lyriq—will light up the roadways. Fans of the full-combustion Escalade can rest easy. As Cadillac will continue to produce the traditional Escalade for the rest of the decade.
But if looks and amenities are any sign, then the Escalade could do fine taking a page out of the Lyriq’s book.
The Lyriq is a modern marvel, featuring a 33-inch curved screen and a 326-mile range. Cadillac’s initial EV offering will go head-to-head with the Tesla Model Y. Take that, Elon Musk.
Jaguar Land Rover
First things first with Jaguar: How the heck is it pronounced? I’ve always heard it pronounced as “Jag-wahr.” Until those fancy commercials came out and threw the jag-YOO-ahr” in our faces. I’ve mastered the proper enunciation of “Land Rover,” though (I think).
However you say it, the word on the street is that Jaguar Land Rover is going big into the EV movement. The Jaguar part of the equation has hinted towards going 100% electric in the very near future.
