Ford Bronco is Bringing the Old and the New Together

Automakers have done a masterful job of putting old style and new technology together in the vehicles we love to drive. Think about the muscle cars of the Big Three American automakers and you’ll see exactly what I’m talking about. It seems, there will be another model that will emerge in the next couple of years as a vehicle that offers a throwback style and a great deal of modern technology together in one name. This new model that will carry the old name is the Ford Bronco, which is expected to arrive for the 2020 model year.

We waited a long time for the Ford brand to bring back a midsized truck for us to enjoy and the Ranger finally arrived as a new truck for the growing market. This truck will compete with the other midsized models that have been updated and improved over the past few years and now that Ford has successfully unveiled this pickup truck, the next step is to offer us the Ford Bronco which will be one of the first SUVs that can potentially compete with the Jeep Wrangler for the off-road prowess we want to have during the drive.

More Information to Pique Our Interest

If you expected a Bronco that would show up and offer the same style as some of the other Ford SUVs on the market like the Ford Escape, you might be disappointed by what you’ll find. That disappointment will likely go away quickly when you realize the new Bronco will offer a similar style to the model that left the market several years ago. An image of what we’ll see has been offered to give us a look at a square and boxy silhouette with a narrow windshield and a spare tire mounted on the tailgate.

Possibilities for a Hybrid Ford Bronco?

The fact the Bronco will appear to be similar to what we’ve seen in the past is certainly a positive step forward for this SUV, but what makes it more interesting is the fact that Ford has stated this new model will also be a hybrid. Whether or not the hybrid will be offered in all versions of the Bronco is unclear, but the news is out and we will see this new off-road brute with an electrified powertrain to ensure we can have improved fuel mileage and more power and torque than what we’ve seen in other models in the Ford lineup.
In addition to the electrification of the powertrain, Ford announced the new Bronco will also benefit from the latest in smart technology to give this SUV the balance desired between a classic appearance from the past and the tech we want to enjoy today. While no announcement has been made as to which show to expect the unveiling of the 2020 Bronco, it’s likely this will be another vehicle that will show up for the first time in Detroit at the beginning of the year. With the addition of the Bronco to the market, we will finally have a vehicle that’s expected to be a worthy opponent of the Jeep Wrangler.
