What’s The Power Like?
The Ram 1500 REV will offer two different batteries to go with the electric motors. The smaller 168-kWh battery will generate 654 horsepower and 620 pound-feet of torque. It may surprise you to find out that the smaller battery will have more towing power than the larger battery option. It can tow up to 14,000 pounds and haul up to 2,700 pounds of payload. The larger 229 kWh battery is larger than any battery in an electric vehicle, but it adds extra weight, so the towing capacity is expected to be lower.
We’re still waiting to find out what kind of horsepower it will deliver, but it’s expected to get up to 500 miles of range, which is more than the REV’s competition, including the Silverado EV and the F-150 Lightning.
An Eye-Popping Exterior Look
Ram refused to be boring with the 1500 REV, giving it a bold, dramatic exterior design. Not only does it stand out from the standard trucks, such as the Ram 2500, it also stands out from other EV trucks.
Instead of taking the conservative approach like Ford did with the Lightning and GM did with the Silverado, the REV has an ultra-modern design with new RAM badging, LED lights integrated into the front bumper flares, and a lower front grille surround.
The Frunk That’s More Than Just a Trunk
It’s not unusual to have a front trunk in an EV, but the REV’s frunk offers more than just storage space. In addition to the 15 cubic feet of secure storage space, this frunk has a 3.6kW power panel. You can use this to power a laptop, plug in a light if you need to see something at night, or even plug in a small fridge. The possibilities are endless.
Next Level Technology
This RAM takes tech to new levels. You can’t miss the 14.5-inch touchscreen that sits front and center in the dash. It runs the latest edition of Uconnect 5, so you can connect your phone and access all your favorites.
The navigation system knows where to find charging stations, too, so you’ll always know where to go. A 12.3-inch interactive information display sits right in front of the driver, and one of the best tech features is the available touchscreen for the front passenger. It’s a 10.25-inch screen they can use to get directions, see what’s going on with the exterior cameras, and for their entertainment too.
