A long-overdue redesign is coming with the 2023 Hyundai Accent. This little car is much better than some people give it credit for being. Suppose you’re looking for a small commuter car that offers good fuel mileage and plenty of features, it’s hard to beat the Accent for the price.
We don’t know exactly what the next version of this car will look like, but we do think it will grab your attention with impressive styling and qualities. This small car was long overdue for a redesign, and it’s been nearly ten years since a new Accent model showed up in the Hyundai lineup.
The Camouflage Doesn’t Give it Away
Some photos are online of the new Accent wearing camouflage to keep us from understanding how the exterior is changing. Even under that garb, we can see the grille is wider than before, offering a design that merges well with the headlights.
This means we might see the Accent using similar styling elements as the Elantra, which certainly should be the case. If these changes are what we see in the new Accent, it will look more like the current Hyundai models positioned above it the lineup.
Everything Else Looks the Same
It’s too early to know what changes part of the production model of the new Hyundai Accent are, but we can speculate. The profile looks the same as before with a traditional trunk lid instead of a fastback hatch that we see on some other models.
It’s not yet known what powertrains will arrive for the Accent, but we should expect a 1.5-liter gasoline engine. This refresh does make us wonder if a hybrid or plug-in hybrid version of this car could arrive with the new model of the Accent.
What Hyundai Offers RightNow
While we wait for the 2023 version of the Hyundai Accent to make its debut, we can spend a little to drive the 2022 version of this car. In a world where we see fewer subcompact cars, the Accent remains one of the most useful and affordable models you can find.
The starting price comes in at $16,645, and the top trim begins at $19,600. This means you’ll pay less for this little car at its top trim level than for almost every other vehicle in the market today. That is some serious value right there.
Don’t Expect Sports Car Speed out of the Accent
Hyundai made this little car to be exactly what it is, an affordable commuter car with tons of great features. You’ll get to speed, but it will take a while to get there. You can drive this car on the highway, but you might want to stick to the right lane.
Thankfully, when you head into town, the Accent offers impressive handling and ride quality, making it a joy to take it around to where you want to go. This Hyundai can be the ideal vehicle for your daily drive, giving you an affordable way to handle your commute.
More Space than Expected in the Hyundai Accent
Step inside the cabin, and you’ll be impressed with the roomy area Hyundai offers in this little car. There’s lots of room in the front seats. Most small cars don’t offer enough space for taller passengers in the rear, but the Accent has enough room for adults in this part of the car.
You will have a small trunk, which is the trade-off for offering an accommodating rear seat area. The cabin materials are expectedly simple, giving you the finishes you find at this price point.
This Car is Attractive Enough
If you approach the Accent as a car that looks nice, drives well, and comes at a great price, you won’t be disappointed. You’ll have nothing but disappointment if you expect sporty styling and dynamic driving qualities. The Accent looks pleasing, offers you a place to drive, and won’t embarrass you on the road.
Higher trims offer nice touches including alloy wheels, fog lights, and LED exterior lighting to give this car an upscale appearance. You’re not going to turn many heads when you drive this little Hyundai, but you don’t expect this car to be a stunner that anyone wants to watch drive by.
