Hyundai reveals a new SUV model, but leaves us wanting to know so much more about it than we do now.
As we’ve seen over the past several years, many automakers will purposely reveal details, photos, or information regarding new models before an official unveiling of the new model. Hyundai is ready to give us a look at a new vehicle that will be added to their lineup in the near future and they invited select media personnel to the event to allow them to take a look at what this new vehicle will be from the Korean brand. While the media were placed under strict silence, there are a few things we know about what this new Hyundai will be.
Going big with Hyundai
Right now, the largest vehicle in the lineup from Hyundai is the Santa Fe XL. This SUV is the three-row model that feels a bit small, but with this new name, it no longer shows a confusing naming system that we had a hard time with in the past. Although this new shuffling of the name is new to the market, the Santa Fe XL will eventually be replaced by a new three-row SUV that appears to be more capable, larger, and ready to handle the roominess and seating you need. The Hyundai Tucson will still be produced to offer that much-needed compact SUV size.
This new large and impressive SUV that will come from Hyundai will be called the Palisade. This name was revealed earlier in the year when the patent filing for the name was uncovered. We’ve seen some testing mules for what this SUV is likely to be on the roads around the country, but so far we don’t have any information that can confirm exactly how big this vehicle will be. Just knowing we’re going to see a new and larger Hyundai SUV in the near future means we have a lot of questions about what it might be when it arrives on the market.
Questions We Want Answered
How big will the new Hyundai Palisades be? What powertrain will find its way under the hood? Will this SUV be capable of going off-road? Will AWD be standard or an optional feature? Is this a vehicle that will give us a preview of what we can expect from Genesis in the near future? Does the Palisades have a large amount of cargo room? What is the target audience for this new SUV? Want new technology will this vehicle bring to the market? How much will the Palisade cost?
All of these are questions we might want to ask and have answered, but we won’t be able to have them answered until the end of the month. The new Hyundai Palisade will make its official debut at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show which takes place starting on November 28. At this time, we can ask these questions and expect most of them to be answered. Until then, the media members that were present at the event held by Hyundai will have to keep the information they learned a secret so that the statistics of the Hyundai Palisade can remain a mystery for us to learn about later.
