Toyota is known for its reliable new and used cars, but how is the company adjusting to the quickly electrifying automotive world? The Toyota bZ4X may give drivers some idea.

Introducing the Toyota bZ4X – A Leap Into the Electric Future

The 2024 Toyota bZ4X is the brand’s first battery-electric production model, but how will it fair in today’s market? If the quality of the rest of the automaker’s new and used cars on today’s roads is any indication, probably well.

A Fantastic Option for City Drivers

This all-new Toyota EV SUV hasn’t had much time to prove itself yet, but it could become a top contender for the best EV SUVs for city driving. Every detail seems to support this assertion. The cabin is large and roomy, yet the compact SUV is small enough for easy maneuverability.

The bZ4X carries its battery pack beneath the floor, creating a low center of gravity that enhances stability and agility. Its noise-insulated cabin creates a peaceful environment even in rush hour traffic, and a fixed panoramic glass roof adds to the allure.

The Toyota bZ4X is available in FWD and AWD versions. FWD models have a single motor that produces 201 hp, while AWD models have two motors and a slight horsepower boost. Both configurations are available in entry-level XLE and Limited trims.

Every bZ4X has sufficient get-up-and-go to make driving around town easy and fun, but the AWD version is quicker off the starting line, hitting 60 in 6.5 seconds. The trade-off is that FWD models get an extra 30 miles of range.

The bZ4X Is Thoroughly Modern

From its futuristic exterior to its impressive infotainment system, the Toyota bZ4X is a thoroughly modern EV SUV. For Toyota’s first foray into the segment, the automaker goes all out with tech features.

Toyota Safety Sense comes standard in every bZ4X and includes automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind-spot monitoring, and more. Limited trim models also feature digital keys, allowing owners to share car access with up to seven others.

The bZ4X’s infotainment system also lives up to the standards set by the SUV’s futuristic style. With a 12.3-inch central touchscreen, a 7.0-inch digital gauge display, and standard wireless smartphone charging, it also goes beyond the competition in the arena of entertainment tech.

The infotainment system has wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay capabilities and a digital assistant that can be voice-activated and interacted with using natural speech.

Toyota Reliability in an EV Should Make These Good Used Cars

If there’s one factor brand enthusiasts cite more often than any others when discussing why they love Toyota, it’s the automaker’s well-deserved reputation for manufacturing reliable vehicles.

Because the bZ4X is so new, there aren’t many used cars to judge by, but experts believe that Toyota’s new EV SUV will boast equal longevity and reliability.

The new bZ4X is competitively priced for its segment, so there’s no need to wait and buy one used. Contact a Toyota dealer about financing options, or check out the brand’s popular hybrid electric alternatives.
