The Toyota Camry may not be the most exciting option at your car dealer, but it’s still a popular pick based on its spacious cabin and good reliability.

Styling Overhaul for the Ninth Generation
The Toyota Camry is now in its ninth generation for 2025 and enjoys a major overhaul in styling, features, and the hybrid-only powertrain. However, the Toyota Camry is still very affordable with the base model starting at $29,495. There are three other trims above the base, including the SE, XLE, and XSE. The top trim starts at $35,695.
The starting price for the new Toyota Camry is a bit higher than the previous generation due to the hybrid-only powertrain. However, the base trim is lower than what would have been the previous generation’s base hybrid model. The LE has the best fuel economy numbers thanks to its smaller wheels.

Upgraded Spacious Interior

The top XLE and XSE trims add leather upholstery, heated seats, ambient lighting, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The standard infotainment screen is eight inches, but if you move up to the SE trim you can add the larger 12.3-inch screen as an option. The larger screen is standard on the XLE and XSE trims.
All trims get wireless smartphone connectivity, but only the top two trims offer a nine-speaker JBL audio system as an optional upgrade. All Camry models also get a standard complement of driver-assistance features that include automatic emergency braking, automatic high-beam headlights, and adaptive cruise control.
Two Hybrid Powertrains to Choose From
Now in hybrid-only form, the 2025 Toyota Camry offers two powertrains. One is a FWD model where a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine pairs with two electric motors for 225 horsepower. The second powertrain adds a third motor to the rear wheels for AWD and increases the horsepower output to 232. Both setups come with a CVT.
EPA numbers for the new Camry haven’t been released yet, but Toyota estimates that the new setup will get combined MPG between 44 and 51 depending on the trim and powertrain. As mentioned above, the base LE model sports smaller wheels than the rest, which should give it better fuel economy.
