The only reason patience is considered a virtue is because it’s an extremely difficult skill to master. It’s especially hard to be patient when it comes to your local GMC dealer finally having the new GMC Hummer EV in stock and ready to take home.
For many Hummer enthusiasts, it has been decades since this power-packing vehicle was available. The modern version of this iconic automobile retains the look, power, and capability associated with the Hummer brand. Instead of being the biggest gas guzzler at the GMC dealer’s lot, the new Hummer is fully electric. That means you get amazing performance and abilities without the cost of fuel or maintenance that comes with a gas-powered powertrain.
Of course, the most challenging part of the new Hummer is a wait that leaves many shoppers wondering, “when will we finally get to the new Hummer EV?”
Isn’t The Hummer EV Already Available?
You may have heard rumors that the Hummer was already in production. You may have even been lucky enough to see one of these incredible innovations on the road. The first version of the new Hummer, called “Edition 1,” was scheduled to start to be available in the fall of 2021.
If Edition 1 was supposed to come out already, why can’t you just go to your local GMC dealer and buy one today? That’s because every single unit that was planned for production has already been reserved. As these models are completed, they are going straight to their new forever homes.
When Will The Next Versions Be Available?
While it may be disappointing to learn that the Hummer Edition 1 isn’t available for purchase, there are still three additional models planned for production. The Hummer EV 3x is expected to hit sales floors in the fall of 2022. This model comes with three powertrain options, up to 350 miles of driving range, and a max towing rating of 11,500 pounds. You can expect to pay around $99,995 for the base-level model.
2023 is going to be a big year for your favorite GMC dealer. The EV 2x is expected to be available in the spring. It only has two powertrain options and maxes out at 300 miles of driving range. This version should start at $89,995. By the end of 2023 or early 2024, the final version, the Hummer EV2, will be ready to take home. You’ll get to choose between two powertrains that offer up to 250 miles of driving range. The EV2 is the furthest away but will also be the least expensive, with an MSRP of $79,005.
How Do I Reserve A Hummer EV?
With three more editions coming soon, you have some options to ensure that you get to bring one of these beasts home. Start the reservation process by going to GMC’s website and picking the options that you love best. Once you have a reservation agreement, someone from your selected GMC dealer will reach out to discuss the final costs, production expectations, and next steps.
If you’re still not sure how to proceed, stop by your local GMC dealer to learn more about the return of this king. You’ll be cruising the road in a brand new electric Hummer in no time.
