The new 2025 Acura MDX makes a few changes to the model lineup with improved audio and driver-assist features. It also enjoys a slight facelift and interior upgrades, including a 12.3-inch touchscreen that replaces the previous touchpad. The powertrain remains the same with a choice between a 3.5-liter V6 and a turbo 3.0-liter V6.
A Minor Refresh Breathes New Life Into the MDX
Compared to the 2024 Acura MDX Trim Levels, not much has changed for the new 2025 model. The solid engine choices from the previous model remain, as does the 10-speed automatic transmission. The MDX’s looks and handling also stay the same. In other words, if you liked the 2024 Acura MDX, there’s not much different about this new one.
However, the good news is that Acura did make some improvements to the interior and the model structure. These were areas that needed some tweaking, so these changes are welcome news for those looking at the new model.
The biggest changes for the 2025 MDX include some luxury features trickling down from the Type S, and a brand new trim level called the A-Spec Advance. The base Type S has also been removed from the lineup.
2025 Acura MDX Model Lineup Changes
The 2024 Acura MDX trim levels consisted of the Base, Technology, A-Spec, Advance, Type S, and Type S Advance. For 2025, the base Type S is gone, leaving only the fully loaded Type S Advance model. A new A-Spec Advance trim slots between the regular Advance trim and the Type S. This trim comes with some Type S features like quilted leather upholstery and massaging front seats.
The Type S Advance trim is loaded with massaging seats, a 360-degree camera, a heated steering wheel, and a 31-speaker audio system that feels like a concert hall on wheels. The outgoing model had 25 speakers. All new MDX trims enjoy a few exterior style tweaks like a new bumper shape and mesh-design grille.
All 2025 Acura MDX models feature new 20-inch wheels with a different design from before. The Type S loses the surround grille for a frameless style with a wider mesh. It also adds 21-inch wheels with a split-spoke design to reveal the red Brembo brake calipers.
Tech-Heavy interior
The biggest changes are on the interior of the 2025 Acura MDX. All models get a redesigned center console and the touchpad has been replaced with a 12.3-inch touchscreen. This switch opens up more space on the console for extra features like more storage and making the wireless charging pad easier to reach.
The screen includes a built-in Google OS and supports wireless Android and Apple connectivity. Most models come with an 11-speaker audio system, but higher trims enjoy a 19-speaker system. More insulation and laminated rear glass in the cabin keep road noise to a minimum.
The other big change for the 2025 MDX is the addition of more driver-assist features, including a new front camera and radar mounted on the grille.
The 2025 Acura MDX models are scheduled to go on sale soon.
